Sync

You can synchronize your CSI Secure Connect calendar with your Outlook calendar or vice versa.

To access the Sync function, select the Sync icon from the tool bar.

The calendar is a two-way synchronization.  The data flows both ways, so you will be prompted as to which system (CSI Secure Connect or Outlook) will override the other.  In the Calendar Conflict Resolution section, you have the option to be notified when conflicts occur, have CSI Secure Connect override Outlook or have Outlook override CSI Secure Connect.  If Notify is selected, you will be prompted with a window that allows you to compare the two systems’ versions of the event.

In the Calendar Deletion Resolution section, you can choose which action to take when the Sync application finds an event that has been synced previously, but the event has now been deleted from one system.  If Notify is selected, you will be prompted with a window that allows you to compare each system’s version of the event.  The Add and Ignore options allow you to specify which system is to override if changes are made primarily on one system.  There is no option to automatically delete.  This option is not available so that you can avoid deleting important information by mistake.

Contact Items Synchronization is a one-way process.  Items stored in CSI Secure Connect will be downloaded to Outlook; however, CSI Secure Connect does not allow items from Outlook to be downloaded to CSI Secure Connect.

You can choose the categories of contacts you wish to synchronize by selecting each check box.  For the selected categories, it is important that the Download Mode is specified.  Most of the time you will want the timesaving New option, which only syncs items that have been changed since the last sync process.  If you ever need a fresh start due to data loss or corruption, choose All for the entire section to be downloaded.
