Using PDFs in the Forms Engine
The Forms Engine can be used to create fields to populate Adobe forms. For information on Adobe Forms, please see the Site Administrator manual.
The first step is to select a form to be populated. A Personal Data Form will be used in this example.
In the Forms Engine, select the folder in which the form should be placed.
Select Add A Form.
Enter the name of the form in the Form Title text box and click Add Form.
Select Add Question from the menu.
Refer back to the original Personal Data Form to enter field 1. On this particular form, Name is the first field.
Type Name in the Question box.
Choose Text Box from the Question Type drop down menu. Other options such as Input Mask, Required, etc. can be entered as well.
Click Submit.
The next field that displays on the form is Home Street Address.
Select Add Question from the menu and enter the appropriate information in the Question and Question Type boxes.
Click Submit.
Follow these steps until all fields on the form are entered.
When complete, select Show PDF Mapping from the menu.
The variable fields that need to be used in the PDF (Adobe) form will display.
In the Personal Data Form, enter the appropriate variables in the corresponding fields.
Once the variables have been entered and the file is saved, it can be bound to the form in the Forms Engine.
In the PDF Upload section, browse for the PDF file and upload.
After uploading, click Submit. The file will then be associated with the Personal Data Form that was created in the Forms Engine.
Select the Published check box and click Submit to publish the form for use.
The next step is to post the form to a page on CSI Secure Connect. Select the Add Content link that corresponds with the group that the form needs to be in.
Choose the Link to form radio button and click Next.
Select the form from the list and enter a title. The Open in new window check box is optional.
The form is now ready to be accessed and completed by users.
When users click Submit on the actual form, they will be taken to a screen where they can view/print the form in the PDF format.
The form author or anyone with security rights to the form can also view the results in the PDF format.
