Add Content to a Page
Adding new information to a page accessed through the Pages menu requires security rights that are granted by your CSI Secure Connect Site Administrator. For more information, contact your Site Administrator.
To add new information to a page accessed through the Pages menu:
Locate
the page you want to add information to through the Pages dropdown and
click on it. The page you want to access will appear on your
screen.
Select Edit Page from the Action Icon Menu
at the top left corner of the page.
When
the Edit Page Content screen is displayed, click the Add Content link.
NOTE: The location of the link is based on the content and layout
of each page. Some pages may also have multiple links. Pages
created as a Book will include a link for "Add New Book Item."
Pages created as an Outline will include a link for "Add New
Outline Item."
From
the Add Link page, choose the type of link to create or select Detail
Item to just add text to the page.
Upload file(s): |
Browse for, or drag and drop the file(s) to open when the link is selected, and then click "Pick Files." This can be an image, text, pdf, Word or Excel file, etc. |
Link to Forms: |
Add a link to an existing form within CSI Secure Connect by clicking on the form from the list and enter a title for the link. |
Detail Item: |
Insert an image, format text and add a header. |
Link to Internet Site: |
Add a text description and a URL link to another web page. |
Link to an existing file or page on this Portal: |
Add a short text title and enter the name of the html page or file name that is already uploaded to the intranet. |
Link to start a Work Flow: |
Add a link to an existing Work Flow within CSI Secure Connect by selecting the Work Flow from the dropdown list, and enter a title for Work Flow. |
Link to Threaded Discussions: |
Add a link to an existing threaded discussion by clicking on the discussion from the list and enter a title for the link. |
Once you've chosen the type of link to create, click Next to set the preferred options for the link(s). The page that displays will be based on the type of link you created in the previous step.
Complete
the necessary information on the page.

Check the box to allow for comments to be made to the file. Comments are only allowed on PDF files. |
Body |
Fill in the body of the detail item that will appear. |
Forms Page |
Check the box to allow field access to your employee database. |
Header Name |
Enter the words that will display on the page. |
Track Users views of this file |
Check the box to track the number of times users view the file. |
Hide header on page: |
Check the box if the header should not appear on the page. Use this option if you will format your title within the HTML body. |
Internet URL |
Enter the internet address URL. |
Open in a new window: |
Check the box to have the link open in a new window. |
Place at: |
From the dropdown list, select this to place the link at the top or bottom of the Group. |
Tags |
Tags can be selected to make it easier to locate the link. |
Title/Link Title |
Enter the words that will display on the page. |
Convert to PDF |
Convert the uploaded file to PDF file format. You have the option to Disable Printing, Disable Copying, and enable Password Protection on your PDF file. |
Enable Archive Date? |
Check the box and set a date to automatically archive the uploaded file. |
Upload Another File |
Click the button to upload another file while in the Upload File screen. |
Select
the appropriate option to continue with the addition of the page content.
This will take you back to the original page where you wanted to add information.
- If you have selected to add or link to an Internet Site, Form, Work Flow,
or Threaded Discussion, click Next.
- If you have selected to upload a file or files from your PC, click I
Am Finished Configuring.
Apply My Settings! once
all files have been uploaded.
- If you have selected to link to an Existing File, click Link to this
Page or Link to this File.
- If you have selected to add a Detail Item, click Submit.
The information you just added will now appear on the page accessed through the Pages menu.
