Assigning Authenticators

In order to assign authenticators, the bank employee should navigate to the Security >> Manage Authenticator >> Unassigned tab.

When there are no unassigned authenticators, the unassigned grid will read "No Unassigned Authenticators."

When an authenticator is first imported, it is displayed in the unassigned tab; this is where a bank employee will be able to assign the authenticator to an employee or customer. The employee will also have the option to assign to redistribution, which allows a customer to assign the authenticator to a sub-user.

Assign to Employee

The following screen appears when an employee clicks the Assign to Employee button.

Several fields are displayed:

  • Current Authenticator Code: Employees must enter the current authenticator code here. This field is required.
  • Nickname for Authenticator: Employees must assign a nickname to the authenticator they are assigning. This field is required.
  • Name, User Name, and Email: These three fields are search fields that assist the employee in searching for the employee that they want to assign the authenticator to.

Employees must provide a Current Authenticator Code, a Nickname for Authenticator, and choose a bank employee in order to assign the authenticator.

Employees may search by name, username, or email by entering a search string and then clicking the Search button. The system will then display any employees that contain the search criteria. Employees can use one, two, or all three search fields in order to narrow search results.

Once the employee finds the employee that they wish to assign the authenticator to, they can select the employee and then click the Submit button.

If a correct authenticator code is entered, the authenticator will be assigned upon clicking Submit.

  • Once the authenticator has been assigned, it will no longer appear under the Security >> Manage Authenticator > >Unassigned tab and will instead be displayed under the Security >> Manage Authenticator >> Employee tab.
  • Users will also see that an authenticator is assigned to an employee by navigating to the Security >> Employees tab and then viewing the employee’s settings.
  • When authenticators are enabled, an "Authenticator Attached" column will be displayed at the far right of the Security >> Employees tab. If an employee has an authenticator attached, an icon will appear in that column for the employee.

Assigning to Customer

The following screen appears when an employee clicks either the Assign to Customer button or the Assign for Redistribution button.

Several fields are displayed:

  • Current Authenticator Code: Employees must enter the current authenticator code here. This field is required.
  • Nickname for Authenticator: Employees must assign a nickname to the authenticator they are assigning. This field is required.
  • Name, SSN, User Name, Email, and Account #: These five fields are search fields that assist the employee in searching for the customer that they want to assign the authenticator to.

Employees must provide a Current Authenticator Code, a Nickname for Authenticator, and choose a customer in order to assign the authenticator.

Employees may search by name, SSN, username, email, or account number by entering a search string and then clicking the Search button. The system will then display any customers that contain the search criteria. Employees can use one, two, three, four, or all five search fields in order to narrow search results.

  • When searching by SSN, the user can enter the number with or without dashes; the system will provide the same search results regardless of whether dashes are used.
  • When searching by account number, the employee must enter the TT code in order for the system to return accurate search results.

Once the employee finds the customer that they wish to assign the authenticator to, they can select the customer and then click the Submit button.

Note: Users are required to have an authenticator assigned to them before they are allowed to have one assigned to them for redistribution. When assigning an authenticator for redistribution, a message will be displayed that notifies them of the master user authenticator requirement if they select a user that does not yet have an authenticator assigned to them. The Submit button will be disabled and users will be unable to assign an authenticator for redistribution to that user. The message will be removed when a new search is conducted within the window or when another user that already has an authenticator assigned is selected.

If a correct authenticator code is entered, the authenticator will be assigned upon clicking the Submit button.

  • Once the authenticator has been assigned, it will no longer appear under the unassigned tab and will instead be displayed under the Customer tab.
  • Employees will also see that an authenticator is assigned to a customer by navigating to the Security > Customers tab and then viewing the customer settings.
  • When authenticators are enabled, an "Authenticator Attached" column will be displayed at the far right of the Security >> Customers tab. If a customer has an authenticator attached, an icon will appear in that column for the customer.
