Messages

CSIeSafe messages are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS) as they travel to and from the CSIeSafe server. You can send or retrieve a message in CSIeSafe once you have created an account - either by completing the New User Setup directly from the website or by responding to an email notificationemail notification.

Retrieve/View a Message

Log into CSIeSafe and the Inbox View will display. Any messages that you have received will be located here.

Click on a message to view it. The contents of the selected message will display under the Opened section.

To move the message into a CSIeSafe sub-folder, click on the message under the Inbox list and drag it to the appropriate sub-folder under the Folders section on the left-hand side of the screen.

Messages can be stored in My Safe using the Export to Text feature. 

Attachments can be opened by double-clicking on the file name or the icon to the right of it. You can also move the attachment to My Safe for storage by clicking and dragging it to the My Safe folder on the left-hand side of the screen.

Compose and Send a Message

Log into CSIeSafe and click on the New Message tab or the Compose tab.

Complete the Compose screen: 

a.   To: Enter the recipient's email address or select it from your My Contacts Address BookAddress Book. There is not a limit to the number of recipients for a message. Multiple email addresses must be separated by a semicolon. 

b.   Subject: Enter the subject line for the email.

c.   Attachment(s): If sending an attachment(s), use the Browse button to select a file and click Open to attach it to your message. Repeat as necessary. (If a file was attached in error, use the red minus icon to remove it. The Clear button will remove all attachments)

d.  Message: Enter the text of the email. 

Click Send. Or, choose "Save as Draft" to hold your message and send it at a later time.

If this is the first time you have sent a secure message to an email address, you will be given the option to add it to your CSIeSafe contacts

If the recipient has never accessed CSIeSafe before, you can also require them to enter a secret word or phrase before they can access the message. The validation word/phrase should be shared with the recipient by some other means (e.g. by phone or in person).

Click Done.

The recipient will receive an email notification and must to login to CSIeSafe to retrieve it. A link to CSIeSafe will be included in the email.

If the recipient has never used CSIeSafe, they will be required to set up a basic profile before they retrieve the message. This includes their name, address, phone number and a password. If validation was required, they will also need to enter the secret word/phrase. Their profile is stored in CSIeSafe and displayed on your My Contacts list and under their My Information page.

Reply to a Message

View the message.

Click Reply.

A box will display that includes the original message. Add any other contacts that you would like to receive the message.

Type your reply above the original message.

 

Click Send.

If a new recipient email address was added, you will have the opportunity to add the contact to your My Contacts list.

The recipient will receive an email notification that they have received a secure message and need to login to CSIeSafe to retrieve it. A link to CSIeSafe will be included in the email.

Forward a Message

View the message.

Click Forward.

Enter the recipient's address in the "To:" line or select a recipient from your My Contacts list, and click Send.

If a new recipient email address was added, you will have the opportunity to add the contact to your My Contacts list.

The recipient will receive an email notification that they have received a secure message and need to login to CSIeSafe to retrieve it. A link to CSIeSafe will be included in the email.

If the recipient has never used CSIeSafe, they will be required to set up a basic profile before they retrieve the message. If validation was required, they will also need to enter the secret word/phrase. Their profile is stored in CSIeSafe and displayed on your My Contacts list and under their My Information page.

Email messages in your CSIeSafe Inbox can be printed without the other information on the screen by choosing the Printer Friendly option.

Message Retention

All email messages and attachments, excluding statements, in your CSIeSafe Inbox that are not moved to your My Safe folder will be automatically deleted after 30 days.

Financial Statements and Notices not moved to your My Safe folder will be deleted according to the bank's online statement and online notice retention settings. Financial statement messages will remain in the Inbox for at least 90 days. 

Move a Message to My Safe

Email messages in your CSIeSafe Inbox can be securely stored in your My Safe folder by exporting them to text.

View the message.

Click Export to Text. The following message will display:

Click OK. Enter a name for the file in the pop-up box. 

Click OK.

Your message is now saved in your My Safe folder, located under the Folders section on the left-hand side of the screen. See below for instructions on moving an attachment to My Safe.

NOTE: All email messages and attachments, excluding statements, in your CSIeSafe Inbox that are not moved to your My Safe folder will be automatically deleted after 30 days. Financial Statement Messages will remain on the system for at least 90 days.

Move an Attachment to My Safe

Email attachments in your CSIeSafe Inbox can be securely stored in your My Safe folder.

View the message.

Click on the attachment that you would like to store and drag it into the My Safe folder.

Click on your My Safe folder to see all of your stored files.

NOTE: All email messages and attachments, excluding statements, in your CSIeSafe Inbox that are not moved to your My Safe folder will be automatically deleted after 30 days. Financial Statement Messages will remain on the system for at least 90 days.

Deleting a CSIeSafe Message

The CSIeSafe messages you delete will be removed from your CSIeSafe Inbox and display in your Trash Bin under the Folders section on the left-hand side of the screen. Items in the Trash Bin will remain there for no longer than 48 hours before being automatically removed from CSIeSafe completely.

There are several ways to delete a message from your CSIeSafe Inbox. Click on the Message you would like to delete and use one of the following methods to delete it:

Press the Delete key on your keyboard.

Drag it to the Trash Bin under the Folders section on the left-hand side of the screen.

Right-click on the message and choose Delete.

Restoring a Deleted Message

To retrieve an item from the Trash Bin:

Click on the Trash Bin on the left-hand side of the screen under the Folders section. Any messages that you have deleted will display on the right-hand side of the screen. Click and drag the message to the Inbox or other sub-folder under the Folders section on the left-hand side of the screen.

Right click the message and choose the Restore to Inbox/MySafe option. The message will now be moved from your Trash Bin and display in My Safe, your Inbox or appropriate sub-folder again.

Track a Message

The Tracking tab is used to perform a search on a message whether it is in draft status, sent, or deleted. Details on how it is used can be found here
